Angela Holmes B.A. (Hons)

I am primarily a Painter of sky, land and sea.
I concentrate on exploring the changes of light and movement and try to capture the atmosphere and energy of the moment.
I paint mainly in oils from my original pen and wash sketches. My sketch books are rather weather worn and are a diary of experiences, containing, not only the necessary colour notes, outlines and marks, but also more intimate notes on the emotions of the scene.
My favorite painting places are around my native shores of Northern Ireland and the wild flat lands of the North Norfolk Coast.
In the past I have worked in other areas of design(my degree is in Fashion and textiles) but have now found my solace in painting.
It is both the most heartbreakingly difficult and yet also the most emotionally uplifting passion of my life.
